Třebíč is well-known for its sights of the Jewish Town and St.Procopius basilica. The Jewish Town has about 120 preserved historical houses and two synagogues and probably is the most well preserved in Europe. One of the most valuable buildings is the rear synagogue with unique murals. St.Procopius basilica forms part of Třebíč Renaissance chateau with Baroque modifications built on the foundations of Benedictine monastery from the 11th century. The Jewish Town and the basilica of St. Procopius are under the protection of UNESCO since 2003.
